How an SWP works
Each month your remaining corpus earns a return, then your withdrawal is taken out: balance = balance × (1 + monthly return) − withdrawal. If the interest earned exceeds the withdrawal, the corpus actually grows and the plan can run indefinitely. If you withdraw more than it earns, the balance shrinks each month until it's exhausted — this calculator finds that point.
